Regarding the big draft, since the first 2 rounds are untimed, there should be no reason why we can start it tomorow, right? No's no pressure to get your pick submitted in time. So if Opie has his player picked out, why not go ahead and start it (after the city draft is complete, of course.) If we want to take a breather before the start of the timed rounds, that might make sense. I do not have a problem with this. If opie5 is ready I can't see what harm will come. The only reservation I have is that I said 29th. I'll send a site mail to everyone saying that we're starting early, but if it gets to you and you aren't ready, then we are fine waiting. If ANY ONE complains that so and so is taking too long we will STOP and wait until the 29th, before continuing.

I think this is understood but, can we draft our own players?

NL East and AL South are already aligned correctly! AL North is also, with the exception of my team being open, as it will remain until the draft is complete. All total we need only 11 players to relocate and we can be done with re-alignment. ADMIN is likely to hold us up a bit as they will have to make the commissioner's change before shobob can move, so It'll probably be Monday at the earliest realistically... In light of this reality I guess we could just allow the draft to commence whenever opie5 is ready to post his pick. ALERT: I have already heard from one owner who will NOT be ready to pick until the 29th. He picks pretty late, so I feel like if we can make any headway, we are still ahead of the game. HOWEVER, be aware that I am almost certain he will NOT be the only one. So again EXPECT DELAYS until the 29th. Here's the board for the Player Draft. drafttourney.freeforums.net/thread/24/big-draft-board

So how are these player transfers going to be handled logistically? Do we need to make trades, or is WIS going to transfer the players for us?

So how are these player transfers going to be handled logistically? Do we need to make trades, or is WIS going to transfer the players for us? Trades, which must begin immediately following the budgets setting. I will send a very detailed list before hand and we will need to settle on a start date based on when everyone can be most likely to be available to submit and accept trades. Likely the most challenging aspect of the whole process.

Oh jeez... I dont know why but I figured WIS admin was going to do it. Thats gonna be rough. ADMIN will do very little to help. As I said, it will be the biggest challenge, but I will provide a detailed list to everyone, and we will focus on at least getting all of the arb eligible players done on that first day, so owners can arbitrate their own guys. Hopefully by the second day we can have every needed trade pending.

I have a ticket open about no trade clause players, and I am waiting for a response regarding that. For now I can't say if they are going to erase the NTCs for us or not. 1st level support has already shot it down, but I've asked for them to refer it "upstairs"

so let me get this straight. we wont officially start player draft til 29th but ppl can start picking in order providing they r ready but no official clock to the 29th We are starting on the 29th. We have, as a concession, allowed owners to begin picking early if they are ready and are comfortable doing so. No clock at all for quite a while, even on the 29th.

Regarding the NT clause guys - worst case we can have the team waive the player and have the team that should own them claim him on waivers.

No trade clauses are forbidden going forward, right?

If we draft a guy in the final year of his current contract, we run the usual risk of him leaving after this first season, correct? That is definitely correct.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. The color coding in the Player Pool spreadsheet - yellow is for arb-eligible, but what is the difference between grey and blue-green?

Regarding the signing of players that will not enable an owner to meet the budget guidelines, I would suggest a penalty that is in line with the current budget penalties.
For example, 10 win penalty per million not within the rules.

How are contracts that might extend into Season 28 (5-year extensions kicking in Season 24) being handled? What if there's no option?
I've seen a few, but haven't thought to check the option status.
