Every owner MUST purchase a $25 GC and WIS will give me the details on that sometime after I get a world. I believe they will have us put "Draft Tourney" in the message line and the recipient will be "ADMIN" Recipient's email "commissioner@WhatifSports" or something along those lines. The exact details will be sent out once I get them. DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR GC AT THIS TIME!!
I am going to allow 2 full weeks for draft review and planning.
At the end of that two weeks, we will begin a 20 round serpentine style draft.
The first 2 rounds will be UNTIMED. I am firm on this point. It may take awhile, but I think an owner missing out on the two best rounds or getting skipped over would be a hard blow, and the idea of this world is to make it as competitive as possible.
Depending on how slow those first two rounds go we will PROBABLY, beginning in round 3, start having timed rounds to help speed up the process somewhat. I am leaning towards trying to get in one round per day, which would mean 30 minute windows for 16 hours. Once we have our draft order set you will have plenty of awareness as far as what time slot your pick is in. I have 3 outside owners who will help us with this process. So you may either post your pick in the forum during your appropriate time, or you can sitemail an owner or two who pick just after you or as a third option you can sitemail a short list of ordered picks to the 3 owners who were kind enough to offer to help out. When the time comes I will post an "available schedule" for each one.
I think with these three options no one should miss out very much, if at all.
The rule will be that you may post your pick anytime once your window opens. Once you make your pick PLEASE SITEMAIL THE TWO OWNERS WHO ARE UP NEXT! THESE OWNERS WILL BE REFERRED TO AS "ON THE CLOCK" and "ON DECK".
If you miss the entire 30 minute window the next owner may post his pick, and so forth every 30 minutes. You may post your pick at ANY TIME once you've missed your window.
Additionally, if everyone is caught up and no one is behind, the next owner may make his pick without having to wait for his time slot. We may be able to get through more than one round per day if everyone is good about sitemailing the owners "On the clock" and "On deck" once they've made their pick.
If things are going rather slowly we MAY consider, beginning in round 11, selecting two players at a time.
Regardless of how good it goes I think once the world is actually "full", we will be at least 6 weeks away from actually hitting the approve button.
The draft board will consist of ALL players from ALL levels on ALL rosters. THIS EXCLUDES ALL FREE AGENTS.
ALL FREE AGENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE WORLD WIDE.
This means that no one is allowed to negotiate with their departing free agents.
Once world wide free agency begins you may certainly bid on them with everyone else.
This should create the deepest Free Agent class we can possibly get, which is exactly what I want.
