If you feel so strongly about creating a new world and feel like filling it will not cause others to drop their franchises in another world, we can attempt this with you.
However, wouldn't you want a NEW world from scratch rather than an existing world meant to go away?
Assuming that's the case, we ask you to sitemail each owner that has signed up and ask them to remove themselves from this world. We need to delete it but had held off on doing so until the merged world had started.
Once all owners are out of this resurrected world, we can work with you to create a new one.

I responded with the following:
I would love any and all cooperation from you on doing this in a manner that would be best for all involved.
I think an S1 world would probably be best, however the only problem I see with a brand new S1 world is that, if I remember correctly, in a S1 world no one can see any players until after the commissioner has hit the "approved" button. We will not be ready to hit that button for quite some time, because we have to conduct a 20 round draft beforehand.
So, I would need a spreadsheet of ALL players appearing on a roster from Rookie to ML. We will NOT be drafting any player from the FA pool, so only those players appearing on a roster would suffice.
Additionally I would need instructions from you on how to handle the prize money GCs. It will be similar to Scwartze's (SIC) Sim League tourney. The payout will not be until after the completion of S4.
If it mirrors what you have his participants do it would be something like recipient = "ADMIN"; email = "commissioner@whatifsports"; message line = "HBD Draft Tourney"
I just would like to have exact instructions on how YOU want me to have my owners do this.
I am trying to think of everything, and am fairly certain that would be the extent of the support we would need from you guys.
If those two items are not an issue I would be most appreciative, and am already very thankful that you are exploring this option with me.

Both bencap, and carlie1998 have decided to wait for the 2nd installment. I have alerted their replacements, and they both should be posting in the "city/division/league" thread when they've chosen where they want to put their franchise.
Everyone else appears to be coming back.
I'd like to show ADMIN what we are made of, so let's get out of that world ASAP, and show them we mean business. Thanks all.

That sure sounds like a promising start. I am just curious if they would have access to a player spreadsheet or if the entire player pool is randomly selected and distributed at inception. So am I correct in assuming its ok to pull out of joey Bell now and wait for further instructions.

Suggestion: Why not make this a 5 year thing? That way we all get the 5 year credit, and it makes it so that draftees and IFAs from year 1 and 2 are more relevant.

Suggestion: Why not make this a 5 year thing? That way we all get the 5 year credit, and it makes it so that draftees and IFAs from year 1 and 2 are more relevant. My original setup called for a 5 season tourney, I reduced it to 4 simply because that equates to about 1 real life year. So I thought one tourney per calendar year would be nice. Secondly owners can still get the 5 season credit if they choose to play in the next installment. So I thought it might be a bit of an extra incentive to reduce turnover at tourney's end. I am in no way against the idea, but after much consideration opted to go with 4. i'd definitely be curious to hear more opinions on the suggestion though. |

Do you think WIS is turned off by our BIG DRAFT request? Really, if we are starting as a new S1 world, and we make this 5 years, do we really need a special draft? I've never been in an S1 world. How evenly distributed is the talent, usually?
