What if everyone came in with a $5 alias team?
We could be full and start a season before they can remove the world.
We could eliminate some of the one season bad contracts by doing this, and we could use it as a qualifier type season, where everyone still has the incentive to win (to garner the best pick possible), also making the "random" type D picks a moot point.
One by one, during the season we could take over, as replacement owners, and be sitting on Go after one $5 3 month sideshow...
Just a thought.

I'm not sold on the idea, but a real "plus" as I see it is if we do that, we could just do the draft gradually over the course of the season.

I can't think of a "downside" except the wait and the extra $5, which seem like small potatoes compared to the # of benefits, first and foremost of which is gaining a world, the biggest obstacle for the last 2 months of putting this all together.

So we'd keep the same draft order we have NOW, and just have a wasted $5 season.
Any player drafted in this season's Amateur draft would also be available in the player draft, as well as any INTL FAs, so we would either:
A) stop the draft at rnd 18 or 19, leaving only 1 or 2 rounds to complete at the beginning of next season.
B) add an additional round or two at the beginning of next season.
Either should be fairly easy to accommodate.
